About this event
Discover the first long-awaited wild plants at the start of the season and live the experience of picking in the forest and in the fields. Learn to identify spring plants and several species of trees, the parts to pick, and their edible and medicinal uses. Learn the skills to easily pick, prepare and taste wild plants and build the confidence to do it yourself later.
PROGRAM :
↠ A first more theoretical part under our tipi in the forest: introduction to the principles of responsible picking and precautions to take before eating in nature, including an overview of toxic plants to avoid. I also present several books and works in French and English for identification and a more in-depth knowledge of plants.
↠ The second part is done in the field for a walk in the forest and in the fields to discover about twenty plants and ten edible and medicinal trees. This walk will allow you to learn to identify trees and plants, how to pick and use them. ↠ We will finish the training at the farm shop, where you can ask me your questions individually if you have any left and we will do a tasting of examples of what you can do with some of the plants we will have seen (herbal teas , flavored salt, pestos, flavored oil, spices for cooking, etc.).
YOU WILL NEED ↠ Clothing suitable for the weather and walking. The activity will take place rain or shine (unless there is a major storm!) Remember to bring a raincoat in case it rains and waterproof boots.
