Your farm retreat in the Outaouais
Chalet La Grande Ourse
From $250/night, depending on the season
Entire chalet · Four seasons · Up to 4 guests · 2-night minimum

Nestled between the forest and the medicinal plant gardens, La Grande Ourse is our most spacious and most comfortable lodging. Designed as a true country home, it offers that combination we love so much: being completely surrounded by nature while enjoying the comforts of home. The wood, the fireplace and the openings onto the outdoors create a warm atmosphere the moment you walk through the door.
Upstairs, a large bedroom with a king bed invites you to sleep in. A small child’s bed also makes room for young families. On the main floor, the living room with its wood-burning fireplace and sofa bed naturally becomes the place where everyone gathers after a day outside. La Grande Ourse has two bathrooms: a shower on the main floor and, upstairs, a bathtub that invites you to slow down a little more. A full kitchen and a dining room let you live entirely at your own pace. In fine weather, the deck, the BBQ and the glassed-in three-season lounge extend the house into nature.
A small piece of the farm awaits you inside. On arrival, you will find a welcome box of products made right here, including our herbal tea and some of our handcrafted body care. Brew a herbal tea. Light the fire. Take a bath. Open a book. Look for La Grande Ourse, the Big Dipper, in the sky. And let the day come to an end without wondering what you should do next.
Everything is here to settle in… and switch off.

Around the farm
About 1 hr 15 min from Gatineau and Ottawa, and about 3 hr 20 min from Montreal, La Fée des Bois is a herbalist’s farm in Clarendon, in the Pontiac MRC, in the Outaouais. Far enough to switch off, close enough to get away for a weekend. The chalet, the medicinal plant gardens and the shop share the same grounds: everything is within walking distance.
The farm lives by the seasons and opens its doors to you during your stay. The shop offers herbal products made on site. In summer, guided tours explore the gardens in the company of the herbalist. In May, weekends are devoted to plant sales. All year round, herbalism workshops, and four weekends of completely free open houses designed for families. On the grounds, rest areas, picnic tables in the sun and in the shade, a playground and educational flowerbeds for children.
Check out the farm’s activities and amenities to plan your stay and make the most of it. We look forward to seeing you there!

A tip before hitting the road: from Route 303, take the 12th Concession rather than the 13th, which some GPS units still suggest.
